Shelley’s Beautiful, Bountiful Belly

I had the pleasure of taking some photographs for my friend, a beautiful first-time mother, Shelley, this week under the setting Arizona sun. We even took some time to decorate her growing bump with a small painting – and the baby seemed to dance as my brush strokes created the heart image! Wishing her and her baby a pleasant birth & wonderful life together~

Four Luck Day: Kathy & Dave’s 4/7/12 Wedding

On April 7th, 2012 the souls of my mother, Kathy, and her new partner, David were joined as one through the ceremony of marriage. Between 100-150 friends and family members joined at sunset to watch them make their love official and everlasting through law and celebration. Jamaican reggae artist, Gyptian’s “Hold Ya” played as the couple’s 14 closest family members and friends led the bride in through the procession down the white lace aisle. Many danced down the aisle, I was dipped by my fiance before we got onto the stage, and others simply showed their bliss through gentle smiles and glistening eyes. The ceremony was prompt, honest, and was filled by the purple glow of the Phoenix sunset as if the city itself were blessing the couple. After the ceremony, John Lennon’s “When I’m 64” played as the audience took photos and the couple signed their marriage certificate. The rest of the night was spent dancing, socializing, listening to a friend’s poetry reading, enjoying the catered Cheba Hut sandwiches, and culminated with a fire performance at the night’s end. Before leaving, many guests helped clean up all the trash and recyclables, and made the venue look as if an event never even happened.

About Nancy:

A full-time English Humanities Major at the U of A, Nancy spends much of her time submerged in the world of literature. When she isn’t involved in scholastics, she enjoys cooking fresh, local foods, hiking Mt. Lemon, stargazing, travel, artistic projects from painting to fire dancing, and spending time with her loving fiance and three cats.
